Well looks like we had a suspect at large living in unit 28 of my complex. While I have no clue what the guy was wanted for, it was true overkill as always. Nine unmarked vehicles with one person each and a squad car with one officer. Ah my tax dollars at work. Thu, Mar. 27th, 2008, 05:41 pm Life is good
Life is going quite well. Finally after three months of waiting and bs I finally got the new fish tank for the dining room to replace the one that was outside the master bedroom. Tank looks great and I really love it in that spot. Managed to recycle a bunch of solid oak from previous tank furniture to build a new hood with the help of Chad. Just need to add several more coats of polyurethane to protect it and then I can get the lights all installed. And with as happy as we are with the tank in the dining room and the fact that the 300gal tank upstairs has some issues, we've decided to move the big tank into the dining room too. It will go against the back of the dining room against the french doors leading to the porch. We need to build a new stand though since the one it is on now was a poorly built piece of shit I bought when I bought the tank. There are a whole lot of details and logistics I'm working on to make it all happen, but the dining room should be mightily impressive when we are done. And then the plan is to move all the workout equipment that's in the dining room and garage now into the second bedroom. Ought to make for a nice workout room when it all comes together. All the kids are doing well. Shortly after getting Napster we were a little concerned about him because he wasn't putting on weight like Jezzebelle was and looked skinny with ribs showing. I had a fecal exam done and he had an excess of rod bacteria so he was put on antibiotics for a week. That definitely seemed to help with his activity level and weight gain. But with the next vet visit we gave both the babies an injection of Lupron. Lupron has been used as a treatment for adrenal gland disease but it is now being used as a preventive measure to stimulate puberty. So I don't know if that had anything to do with it or if the Napster just needed a little time to get his groove going, but he is now the biggest fattest weazie I've ever had. He's a beautiful big boy now. I'll try to get some new pics up soon. And I'm really looking forward to the big birthday party this weekend. Many thanks to Jean for organizing and fussing and many thanks to all the other peeps that I know are helping out. Should be one hell of a weekend. Hope to see many of you there.
http://www.livescience.com/environment/080220-trawling-effects.htmlAmazing satellite photo of the Gulf of Mexico showing how deep sea trawlers are destroying the ocean floor and stirring up a shite load of sediment. And the sediment I'm sure only contributes to the huge dead zone in gulf below the mouth of the Mississippi River. Which is mainly due to agricultural runoff in the form of phosphate fertilizers causing algae blooms that suck up all the oxygen killing everything for miles. weee Mon, Feb. 4th, 2008, 11:50 am Weekend
Awesome weekend! Jean and I had some peeps over on Friday for some game action. Chad and Steph brought over DDR for the wii and we ended up playing that for a bit before moving on to other games.
Then Sunday was SuperBowlSunday! We had a good 20 plus in the house for the game. A full house with stadium seating on the stairs. Many thanks to those who brought delicious snackies. Jeff Simmons brought some extremely tasty cheeses. Maybe 6-8 different types...mmmm, and I still have a little bit left.
But I think everyone had a great time. That was one of the best SuperBowl games I have seen in a long time. And as a Raider fan, I'm so happy the Patriots lost...hehee. Tue, Oct. 23rd, 2007, 01:16 pm

Once tagged by this entry, the assignment is to write a blog entry of some kind with six random facts about yourself. Then, pick six of your friends and tag them; no tag backs. This explanation should be included. Tagged by arielmnop
1. (in response to arielmops #1) I've been shaving my armpits for about 15 years.
2. I started driving automatic transmission cars when I was maybe 9. Learned manual transmission when I was 10 or 11. Of course there was the time when I was 4 years old and took one of my parents cars keys, started the car, put it in gear and drove into the clothes dryer in the garage.
3. I flew my first solo flight in an airplane at the age of 16. My dad was letting me fly(but not take off or land of course) the plane when I was maybe 4 or 5.
4. I have only lived in three cities my whole life...Bakersfield 10yrs, Exeter 7yrs, and San Luis Obispo 16+yrs.
5. I talk to myself a lot. Although some of that is also directed at my animals.
6. I enjoy cooking. I've never had any kind of formal training. I've just always just figured it out through good guessing and experimentation. And friends usually rave about and crave my dinners.
So since I think everyone already been tagged by this meme, I guess that means I'm still it. Thu, Mar. 30th, 2006, 03:42 pm ha!

Regularly dealing with relatives in their 70's and 80's can certainly be a test of ones patience. It has certainly increased my levels of patience over the years. Today was a special grandparent day. My mother's parents have a house down in Pismo Beach. My grandfather had a maybe 30 year old small chevy truck that in past years he had used for driving on beach or my parents used when my dad flew his plane into town. I guess my grandfather decided to trade it in on a new truck. Today I got a call from my grandmother on their cell phone telling me that they were driving back both vehicles. She was in the cadillac and grandpa had the new truck. Well grandpa was supposed to follow her, but she never saw him get on the freeway so she pulled over shortly after the Avila exit on the north bound 101. She never saw him pass her, so she called me because she wasn't sure what to do. At first she wanted me to get in my car and search the area between her and their house in case he had broken down. Well before I could get out the door she called me back. While I was on the phone with her, grandpa tried calling her from their house. But even though she has the cell phone, she can't remember the house phone number and can't find a pen to write it down. I tried telling her the number, but at this point she's a little rattled and insists that I call and tell grandpa where she is. Well my grandfather has a bit of a hearing problem and doesn't hear high frequencies very well. So it a sec to explain where she was and to call the cell phone again. I really hope they make it home safe.

Ah! I'm a dead lost character. :)
Boone
You scored 62% kindness, 50% courage, 36% seedy past, and 41% secretiveness! |
"I know you made a promise. I'm letting you off the hook. Let me go, Jack."
You are Boone. You are kind and brave, with a slightly less checkered past than your fellow survivors. You are an open book, and do not keep secrets from anyone. While your humanitarian efforts are chivalrous, being so trusting and helpful can get you into major trouble...especially when you spend your days hanging around John Locke. Stay away from the manipulative types and you should be winning a Nobel Peace Prize in no time.
Your polar opposite is: Danielle. You are similar to: Jack and Claire. |

Megan had this little quiz on her journal so I decided to give it a shot. hehee | | Dear Cupid,
This year, I've had my ups and downs in the love department.
| Jedipussytricks was video taping me while I was changing then put it up on the internet and now I’m a huge star. Ceebaby painted a nude portrait of me. I proved to Carlise_lamb that you can have fun with just two people, a tarp, some chocolate sauce, a pair of dice, and some baby oil. | So as you can see it's been a hectic year. Can you please make Nofantasy hook up with me this Valentine's day?
Sincerely, makoslo |

Hmm a tie between Bond and Batman...I can live with that. | You scored as James Bond, Agent 007. James Bond is MI6's best agent, a suave, sophisticated super spy with charm, cunning, and a license's to kill. He doesn't care about rules or regulations and somewhat amoral. He does care about saving humanity though, as well as the beautiful women who fill his world. Bond has expensive tastes, a wide knowledge of many subjects, and his usually armed with a clever gadget and an appropriate one-liner.
